Water Polo

Water Polo

Worthing Swimming Club has a long history of playing water polo since its formation in 1890 and we currently have boys’ and girls’ teams playing in several competitions in both junior and senior age groups.

The club currently offers training sessions on four evenings each week and these include a combination of swimming and water polo which have been developed to offer all our squad members the opportunity to progress to the highest possible level.

As a result, we currently have a record number of our members involved with both junior and senior international squads, and we have several others who will hopefully be selected in the coming months and years.

We play in many competitions and matches each year and our junior teams regularly participate in the National Age Group championships which our under 15 boys won in 2018 and were runners up in 2021.

Our junior program has always produced talented water polo players and the majority of the boys and girls involved range from 11 to 18 years of age when they move into our senior set up. You can find out more here: http://www.worthingwaterpolo.org/

For younger children, we work closely with Drenched Mini Water Polo which is our associated club run by Worthing senior squad member Matt White. Drenched specialise in teaching water polo skills to boys and girls aged 7 to 12 years of age and they offer an ideal way to get involved playing the game. They can be contacted via the following link: https://www.drenchedschool.co.uk/

Worthing Swimming Club Water Polo is sponsored by Roffey Homes.
